As your impact increases, the way you work needs to grow too.
I help growing Canadian nonprofits strengthen the way they work, so they can navigate increasing complexity and advance their mission.

Growth can quietly turn into constant coordination.
As your organization grows, work that once happened naturally starts requiring more effort. More people are involved, responsibilities become more specialized, and information needs to move across more teams, tools, and processes.
Decisions start depending on a few key people. Staff create workarounds to bridge gaps between systems. Reporting means pulling information together from multiple places. Everyone is working hard, but keeping the organization aligned takes more and more of that effort.
The work is getting done. It’s just feeling harder than it needs to.
You focused on growing your impact. The way you work didn’t always keep up.
That’s not a failure. It’s often a natural consequence of growth.
You built programs, developed partnerships, secured funding, hired people, and responded to new opportunities. Along the way, the processes and systems that supported an earlier version of your organization kept doing their job.
Until they started asking more of your team than they used to.
The answer isn’t necessarily more process, more technology, or more structure. It’s understanding what still works, what no longer fits, and what needs to evolve for the organization you’re becoming.
Start with the whole picture.
Organizational challenges rarely fit neatly into one box. A process problem can be a people problem. A technology problem can start with unclear data. And sometimes the tool everyone wants to replace is doing exactly what it needs to do.
That’s why we’ll look at the friction together through four connected lenses:
People
Understand the people doing the work — their needs, responsibilities, knowledge, and capacity.
Process
See how work actually happens — including decisions, handoffs, bottlenecks, and workarounds.
Data
Understand what information matters, where it lives, how it moves, and whether people can use it with confidence.
Technology
Assess how your tools support the work, where they create friction, and what’s realistically possible.
Together, we’ll identify what’s working, understand what’s getting in the way, and co-create practical improvements that fit your organization and its capacity.
Understand what needs to change. Then make it happen.
Every engagement starts by building a shared understanding of where you are, where you’re going, and what’s getting in the way. From there, we can determine what needs to change and the right way to move forward.
Phase 1 — Diagnose & Recommend
We’ll examine what’s working, where friction exists, and what’s behind it. Together, we’ll identify priorities and develop practical recommendations and a roadmap grounded in your goals, capacity, and organizational reality.
You’ll leave with greater clarity about what needs to change, why it matters, and what to do next.
Phase 2 — Implement & Improve
When it makes sense to continue together, I’ll help turn those recommendations into practice. Depending on what the work requires, that may mean working directly with your team, leading implementation, or bringing in specialized expertise.
We’ll learn from what’s working and continue to refine the approach as needed.
Recommendations built for your organization.
“Will immersed himself in our strategy, systems, and data, quickly translating that understanding into recommendations that were thorough, practical, and ready to be implemented. He brought genuine curiosity and a collaborative approach to every conversation, helping us navigate complex decisions with confidence. What I appreciated most was his ability to connect strategy with day-to-day operations, ensuring that every recommendation was grounded in the realities of our organization. I would recommend Will to nonprofit leaders looking for a thoughtful partner who can strengthen the systems and operations that support their mission.”

If the way you work hasn’t kept pace with your impact, let’s talk.
Every organization grows differently. Let’s start with a conversation about what’s changing, where you’re feeling friction, and whether working together makes sense.
